Complications - Collis Gastroplasty
Complications Associated with Collis Gastroplasty
As with any procedure, it's possible for complications to happen. However, this is uncommon. As nationally recognized esophagus experts, our Esophagus Center physicians work closely with leaders within our Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Center to help you avoid complications.
Possible complications associated with Collis gastroplasty include:
- Bleeding at the surgical site
- Infection in your abdomen (peritonitis)
- Unintentional slipping of the wrapped portion of your stomach, meaning your lower esophageal sphincter is no longer supported
- Unintentional puncture (perforation) or tearing in the lining of your esophagus
