What Is Alcoholic Liver Cirrhosis?

Alcoholic cirrhosis happens after years of drinking too much alcohol and is an advanced form of alcohol-induced liver disease. If you have alcoholic cirrhosis, it is likely that your liver has not been functioning well for a long time.
You may have had:
- Fatty liver disease (steatosis) is a condition caused by abnormal levels of fat in your liver.
- Alcoholic hepatitis is a condition caused by continued alcohol use that results in long-term (chronic) inflammation in your liver.
- Alcoholic cirrhosis is an advanced stage of alcoholic liver disease that causes your liver to become stiff, swollen, and barely able to do its job.
Alcoholic Cirrhosis
A form of alcoholic liver disease, this condition causes irreversible scarring in people who regularly consume too much alcohol.
